The NBS wishes all citizens of Saarlouis a Happy New Year. As every year, the used Christmas trees will be collected for recycling. The Christmas tree pickup is a free service offered by NBS and the district town of Saarlouis.

The city of Völklingen is setting up collection points throughout the city again this year for disposed Christmas trees. Citizens can drop off their old trees free of charge at the designated locations from January 3 to January 20, 2025.
