Information on the re-election of the Regional Assembly
On Sunday, August 30, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the re-election of the Regional Assembly of the Saarbrücken Regional Association will take place.
For the organization and execution, the state capital Saarbrücken requires around 1,700 volunteer election assistants to support on election day in the 123 in-person polling stations and 70 postal voting offices in Saarbrücken.
Further election assistants wanted
Anyone interested in this task must be at least 18 years old and have German citizenship or citizenship of another member state of the European Union.
The election assistants will be assigned in hourly shifts in one of the polling stations. Deployment requests will be considered if possible. In each polling station, a team of about eight election assistants is on duty. Together, they form the election board for the respective electoral district. This consists of a presiding officer, a deputy, and several assessors.
Assessors receive a refreshment allowance of 25 euros. Presiding officers and their deputies receive 35 euros.
Those who wish to get involved in the re-election of the Regional Assembly can fill out the form at www.saarbruecken.de/wahlhelfer or send an email to wahlen@saarbruecken.de. Telephone registrations are possible at +49 681 905-3258, +49 681 905-3487, or +49 681 905-3254.
Voter register and election notifications
The voter register was compiled as of the cut-off date Sunday, July 19. It includes all persons who are of legal age on election day, have German citizenship or citizenship of another member state of the European Union, and have been residing in the state capital Saarbrücken with their main residence for at least three months. Only those registered in the voter register or presenting a valid voting certificate for the Saarbrücken electoral area are permitted to vote.
Starting today, Monday, July 20, election notifications will be sent to all eligible voters. These contain information about the election day, the polling station
