Fresh Fish and Beach Chair Vibes in Lebach
When Helga Jeglorsch decided ten years ago to give up her fish shop in the Lebach pedestrian zone due to her age, Michael Link took over the store without hesitation. “As a Frisian boy, I always wanted to have my own fish shop,” says the man most Lebach locals know simply as “Fischi-Michi.” Together with his wife Britta, he fulfilled a dream back then.
The “MB Fischhaus” has now become an indispensable part of the city center. From Tuesday to Saturday, you can buy fresh fish and delicious seafood specialties here to prepare at home, or you can take the opportunity to enjoy fish dishes on-site. The daily regular menu features baked fish and a variety of tasty salads.
The fish restaurant to the left of the shop seats 28 guests, and in summer, about 30 outdoor seats are added. Then you can also sit in a beach chair to enjoy fish and chips along with a glass of wine. However, it is recommended to reserve a table for lunch, as only fresh fish is served at “MB Fischhaus.” Reservations are accepted by phone at 06881-51808. You can also pre-order and pick up meals this way. Particularly popular are the regularly held events at “MB Fischhaus.” Whether fish burgers or flame-grilled salmon, when Michi and Britta invite guests to themed evenings on Fridays or Saturdays, the seats are booked quickly. Reservations are also strongly recommended here. Events are announced on Facebook as well as on the signboard in front of the shop and restaurant at Am Markt 17.
Britta and Michael proved to be the warmest hosts you could imagine at the celebration of their 10th anniversary, which was attended by regular customers from all over the region. Fred Metschberger, deputy mayor of the city of Lebach, brought a small gift along with his best wishes for the future.
