Good day,

Attached is a press release from the city of St. Ingbert with a request for publication.

Haarschnitt Roth looks back on 70 years of family tradition

The Roth family has established both a name and a well-established place in the hairdressing trade in St. Ingbert for over seven decades. The current ladies' and gentlemen's salon on Ludwigstraße is run by Sabine Roth, who is supported by two employees. However, the family history of the master hairdressers Roth began much earlier, namely on July 2, 1956.

This date is confirmed by the official registration in the commercial register of the city of St. Ingbert. Hermann Roth, the grandfather of Sabine Roth, opened a hair salon at that time in the former city swimming pool. Mayor Dr. Ulli Meyer made a point of attending the anniversary event at the salon on Ludwigstraße together with economic promoter Martina Quirin and personally congratulating them: “Running a family business for over 70 years requires not only special craftsmanship but also passion and dedication. For this, I thank your entire family and extend my heartfelt congratulations.” In the presence of numerous guests, he read out the commercial register entry, and all the guests present smiled at the passage “Nationality: Saarlander.”

Many people from St. Ingbert will still remember the former Roth hair salon, which was run until the year 2000 in the building of the former public bath. It was initially managed by Hermann Roth, before his son Werner also trained as a hairdresser in March 1963 and supported him. In 1980, the son took over the business and successfully continued it until the end of 2008. At the master school, which Werner Roth completed successfully, fate took its further course. There he met his wife Karin, who was also pursuing the profession of master hairdresser. And it happened as it was meant to be, the two eventually became a couple. Recently, they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, which Werner Roth commented on with a smile, saying, “I never wanted anyone else.” His wife Karin also worked for many years – with a short break due to parental leave and raising children – with joy in the hair salon.

The senior boss looks back on his professional life with joy: “Throughout the many years as a master hairdresser, I have always placed great importance on a good working relationship with my female and male employees as well as the numerous trainees. It still gives me particular pleasure when I walk through the city center and am kindly greeted by so many people. That gives me a good feeling and also fills me with a bit of pride.”

Due to the demolition plans for the former indoor pool, the move to the new business premises on Ludwigstraße, formerly Pelz Wellner, took place in 2000. Here, the daughter Sabine Roth finally took over management at the beginning of January 2009. “For as long as I can remember, everything in our family has somehow always revolved around the hairdressing trade. It all started with my maternal grandmother Regina Müller, who was already self-employed as a hairdresser in Reisbach in the 1950s. Likewise, my sister's mother-in-law works in the hairdressing profession, and my mother-in-law was also a hairdresser. I’m not sure if you can call it a dynasty, but it certainly feels like one,” says the owner Sabine Roth laughingly about the family history. And the fact that family tradition is lived in these business premises is impressively shown by the many well-wishers as well as customers who happily stopped by on the anniversary day. With small snacks and more than a few glasses of Crémant, the guests lingered in the very tastefully furnished hair salon or also on the cozy seating under the pavilion in front of the shop entrance. And not a few of them took the opportunity to then visit the Ingobertus Festival in the best summer weather.
