The closure affects the section of the L 165 under the bridge structure of the Rosseltal Bridge. The first full closure will last from Friday, July 3, 2026, 9 a.m. to Monday, July 6, 2026, 5 a.m. The second full closure will last from Friday, July 10, 2026, 9 a.m. to Monday, July 13, 2026, 5 a.m. The detour will be signposted on a large scale via Wehrden, Schaffhausen, Wadgassen, Werbeln, Ludweiler, and Geislautern. In parallel to the work on the Rosseltal Bridge, there will be further traffic restrictions in the city area due to the renovation of the L 271. The State Road Construction Authority (LfS) has announced that the roundabout in Fürstenhausen will be fully closed from Tuesday, July 7, for approximately four weeks. The corresponding press release from the LfS was published by the City of Völklingen on July 1 on voelklingen.de under "News from Völklingen". This currently results in several simultaneous construction sites within the city area. Due to the urgency of individual measures as well as technical and traffic safety requirements, however, these cannot be postponed to a later period, such as the autumn holidays. Depending on the road, the Autobahn GmbH of the Federal Government or the State Road Construction Authority (LfS) is responsible for the individual measures. The city accompanies the planning within its area of responsibility and tries to avoid overlaps of construction measures or to space them out in time as far as possible. However, the determination of the construction process and execution periods is made by the respective responsible construction authorities. The official detour routes are established by the respective responsible construction authorities. In the case of the bridge renovation, they run over classified roads. Local residents can often use other routes within the city area as long as there are no closures.
