Yesterday, the Michelin Guide stars for fine dining were awarded once again. St. Ingbert continues to be represented at the highest level. Both the restaurant "Atama" by Martin Stopp and the restaurant "midi" by Peter Wirbel successfully defended their Michelin stars.
With this, the biosphere city continues to have a total of three Michelin stars and cements its reputation as a top culinary destination far beyond the region. Saarland once again underscores its status as Germany's number one gourmet region with a total of 14 Michelin stars.
The restaurant "Atama" by Martin Stopp maintains its two Michelin stars. Its cuisine combines classic French haute cuisine with creative influences from the Far East and other culinary traditions around the world. Peter Wirbel also confirms his star-level once again with his restaurant "midi" in Rohrbach. His dishes are characterized by the high-quality processing of regional products from the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.
"My warmest congratulations go to Martin Stopp and Peter Wirbel on successfully defending their Michelin stars. Saarland and St. Ingbert are not only playing in the first league in football with SVE. We are also among the absolute top nationwide in gastronomy. That St. Ingbert continues to be represented with three Michelin stars makes us proud and impressively demonstrates the extraordinary culinary talent that is home to our city. Top chefs, regional products, and the highest craftsmanship make St. Ingbert a flagship of Saarland gastronomy," congratulates Mayor Dr. Ulli Meyer.
