The Junge Union in the district and in the city of Neunkirchen welcomes the decision to maintain and further expand the children's clinic at the Kohlhof location. After months of uncertainty, this is an important signal for families, medical staff, and the entire region.
The district chairwoman of the JU Neunkirchen, Isabella Simmet, explains:
“The preservation of the children’s clinic at Kohlhof is good news for all families in the district. Reliable medical care and short distances are especially important in pediatric healthcare. The planned development into a specialized clinic will sustainably strengthen the location.”

The months-long discussion about a possible relocation of the children's hospital to St. Wendel has caused considerable uncertainty among citizens and hospital staff.
The chairman of the JU city association Neunkirchen, Jonas Rheinheimer, emphasizes:
“Health Minister Magnus Jung and the SPD failed to provide clarity at an early stage. Instead, a highly sensitive issue of medical care was discussed openly and contradictorily for months. This approach is irresponsible and has damaged the trust of many people.”
From the perspective of the Junge Union, the turnaround clearly demonstrates the SPD's unplanned health policy in Saarland. Important structural decisions should not only be corrected under public pressure.

In conclusion, Simmet and Rheinheimer demand a reliable implementation of the announced measures:
“Now it is crucial that actions follow words. The region needs a strong and future-proof children's hospital at the Kohlhof location. The state government is obliged to finally ensure stability and trust in health policy.”
