New City Office Opened in Downtown Völklingen
The new office of the City Management at Rathausstraße 28 is now open. Right in the city center, a former vacancy has been repurposed and developed into a place for meeting, exchange, and creative use.
In the future, the City Office is intended to serve as a contact point for urban stakeholders, cultural workers, clubs, businesses, and citizens. The premises are open for various uses. Planned events include smaller cultural activities such as exhibitions, readings, or workshops. Furthermore, the City Office is meant to offer local clubs, social organizations, cultural workers, and businesses the opportunity to present themselves and their work.
Among the first partners to use the City Office is the KulturGut association. The use of the new premises will be inaugurated on May 7th at 6:30 pm with an exhibition by artist Denys Kovalenko. The exhibition can be seen every Friday from 3 to 6 pm and during the City Management's office hours until the summer holidays.
Another offering in the City Office is the so-called pop-up shelf. This serves as a temporary presentation and sales space for local retailers, clubs, founders, and creative projects. Products or exhibits can be displayed and sold on a commission basis. The goal is to provide local actors with an easy way to make their offerings visible in the city center.
Interested parties who would like to use the pop-up shelf or have ideas for joint projects can contact project manager Rabea Hoffmann directly:
Email: rabea.hoffmann@voelklingen.de or phone: 06898 - 13 2394.
The regular consultation hours of the City Management take place on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The City Office sees itself as an open space for new impulses in the city center and invites interested parties to contribute their own ideas and projects.
