New guild tree for Oberwürzbach: Location determined and initial investigations started
In Oberwürzbach, the project around a new guild tree is taking further shape. For the planning, a working group was established, consisting of members of the local council led by the local mayor Dunja Sauer as well as dedicated citizens. The project is being supported by the city administration.
A first important step was finding a suitable location. After thorough examination, a proposal was presented to the local council, which has since gained approval: The future guild tree is to be erected behind the community center, centrally located in the village center by the stream.
In order to clarify the structural conditions, a so-called trial pit was carried out last Wednesday at the intended location. With the support of Marco Schmeltzer, who provided his excavator for this purpose, corresponding soil excavations could be carried out. The aim of this measure is to give the commissioned engineer Frank Lenhart direct insight into the stratification of the soil.
The acquired insights form the basis for the further planning of the project. The new guild tree is intended to make a visible contribution to shaping the village center in the future and to strengthen the tradition in the community.
