Since June 2023, the contracted builder Real Bau has been constructing the new fiber-optic infrastructure in the community, which serves approximately 3,000 households. Currently, the construction is taking place in the townships of Auersmacher, Rilchingen-Hanweiler, and the center of Kleinblittersdorf. In Kleinblittersdorf and Auersmacher, the underground construction is expected to be completed by around summer 2025. In Rilchingen-Hanweiler, the underground construction work is anticipated to be completed by early 2026. Overall, approximately 45% of the underground construction work in the entire project has been completed.
The construction works of the contracted builder are running at full speed. During the winter break, the fiber network construction will pause from December 16, 2024 to January 12, 2025 for safety reasons. Open construction sites will be temporarily sealed or properly secured. Once the new year begins, work will resume with full force, weather conditions permitting, and the underground construction works are expected to continue in early 2023.
Currently, the team from Deutsche Glasfaser is working diligently on connecting the fiber-optic main distributors, known as PoP’s (Point of Presence). All fiber-optic household connections in Kleinblittersdorf will be supplied with fiber optics once this is done. Customers and subscribers will be informed about the nearest activation period as soon as possible.
More information about the fiber-optic build can be obtained via the free Deutsche Glasfaser Construction Hotline at 02861 - 890 60 940 (Mondays to Fridays between 7 and 18 Uhr) or at www.deutsche-glasfaser.de.
