Traffic accident involving a motorcyclist with serious injuries

At the time of the accident, the 20-year-old woman from Püttlingen was driving on the B 268, coming from the direction of Schattertriesch, heading towards Schmelz. About 300 meters before the junction with the road "Herrenkrippchen," the motorcyclist overtook a car in front of her. After completing the overtaking maneuver, she lost control of her motorcycle and veered off the road to the right. She then first collided with a protruding tree root in the adjoining green area and was thrown off the motorcycle. Both the motorcycle and the rider overturned. The rider was seriously injured and transported to a hospital by rescue helicopter. The motorcycle was completely destroyed.
