For many years, the Biosphere Market has been attracting visitors on a culinary journey through the region
Providers of delicious and high-quality regional products from the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve are happy to come to the Biosphere Market in St. Ingbert. Under the motto "Get to know, try, enjoy, and buy," St. Ingbert once again becomes the marketplace for fresh and healthy products from the region, because regionality means quality of life.
Pure spring in the dome hall of the town hall, where the beautifully decorated stalls once again create a cozy market atmosphere. At the Hegmann family stand, you can taste and enjoy apple juice and apple sparkling wine from the orchards of the Bliesgau.
From fine homemade jams, fruit spreads, and jellies made from local fruits and vegetables to vegan spreads, organic chutneys, and organic spice blends, as well as aromatic herb pestos and pickled vegetables, many culinary delights from the region can be found. Selected herb oils, apple vinegar, mustard, and high-quality cooking oils are offered. Fine brandies and liqueurs, delicious organic honey varieties, and beekeeping products invite you to indulge. At the biosphere market, you can also purchase Bioland raw sausages and salami, as well as meat from Bliesgau pasture-raised lamb.
This year, the Lenert bakery from Blieskastel, a partner of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve, is offering its baked goods. Visitors can take a little break here with delicious cake and a cup of fair trade coffee.
Also new at the Biosphere Market is Tiny-Brew – a small brewery from Kleinblittersdorf. At the stand, you can sample and buy homebrewed beer, such as a hemp beer.
Unusual woodturning works made from woods of the biosphere region can be found at Ralf Meisel. A nice souvenir also includes hand-made soaps and bath products, cosmetics, massage oils, and wellness products from nature. Herbal and grain cushions can also be found in the extensive range.
The Fairtrade Steering Group St. Ingbert presents itself together with the Weltladen St. Ingbert at a market stall.
The physical well-being of visitors is also taken care of: there are lentil burgers in the dome hall and Highlander Mettwurst, biosphere wild sausage, and merguez are offered at the bratwurst stand in the outdoor area.
At the special area in the dome hall of the town hall, NABU St. Ingbert sells nesting aids for birds and insects, which were built by Haus Sonne in Walsheim. Visitors can also obtain information about the work and offerings of the association at the stand.
The biosphere market in the dome hall of the town hall, like the SaarLorLux tourism fair in the city hall, is open on both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
