Customers will in the future be able to access the services of the citizens' office continuously on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesdays from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Fridays from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Visits will still be possible without a prior appointment.
To avoid waiting times, the Merzig city administration recommends making an appointment in advance. These can be booked via the online appointment system on the district town of Merzig's homepage at the following link: www.merzig.de/digitale-terminvergabe/
If customers wish to use the services of the citizens' office without an appointment, longer waiting times should be anticipated. This can occur when no available appointments are left at short notice due to high demand.
It is also possible, of course, to arrange an individual appointment outside of opening hours if needed. These appointments can be made for the citizens' office by calling 06861/85-100 or by emailing buergerbuero@merzig.de, and for the registry office by calling 06861/85-0 or by emailing standesamt@merzig.de.
For the other offices and facilities of the Merzig city administration, the existing opening hours remain unchanged.
In addition to the existing options for accessing administrative services, such as visiting authorities in person or submitting applications by mail, digital administrative services are gradually being expanded. Currently, the digital service offerings in the registry office area have been extended. In the future, certificates can be applied for and paid online. Payment can be made via credit card (Master/Visa), giropay, or paydirekt.
