On September 5th, the so-called "ABC-Schützen" will start their school routine again at the elementary schools in Völklingen. Therefore, at the beginning of the school year, the local police authority will conduct targeted controls. In particular, sidewalk parking will be monitored and also sanctioned – up to and including the towing of vehicles if necessary. With regard to the special need for protection of the new school entrants, the city administration asks all road users to act with particular caution and foresight.
In addition, large-scale warning banners with the inscription "Slow down, please! School start" are placed at prominent locations in the city area to draw attention to the special hazard situation.
