Regarding the extension of the Infection Protection Act, whose regulations expire on September 23, the deputy state chairman of the FDP, Dr. Helmut Isringhaus, says:
“Contrary to all the dire predictions, the traffic light coalition has agreed in good time on new regulations, so that the federal government and the states have a toolbox to effectively respond to potentially emerging critical pandemic situations.
At the same time, it is clear that in the future, lockdowns, school closures, and 2G/3G rules will be a thing of the past.
I hope that during further consultations, practical improvements compared to previous regulations will be achieved. This concerns the definition of the overload of the healthcare system and cross-border regulations.
I can only hope that the state government will use its toolbox sparingly and after careful consideration. Given the SPD’s absolute majority in the state parliament, every member of the faction has a great responsibility here.”
