With summer temperatures and after a long Corona break, the popular Sulzbach Herb Market was a great experience for everyone last weekend. Shortly after 11 a.m., when Mayor Michael Adam officially opened the market, there was already a great response. The numerous visitors were treated to a colorful scene around the historic salt houses. The scent of fresh herbs and aromatic spices filled the air. All the stalls were bustling with activity, as there was much to discover and taste. Around 50 stall operators offered a colorful mix of various salts, herbs, spices from all over the world, as well as oils, vinegars, mustard varieties, liqueurs, fine brandies, jams, pesto, honey, and much more. Magnificent flower arrangements provided bright splashes of color. Additionally, there were hand-sewn herb cushions, garden decorations made of wood or ceramics, natural care products, books on the topic of salt, wines, and liqueurs. It is this unusual mix that gives the market its special flair and is so well received by the visitors. And then there were the delicious homemade cakes in the lavender café in the Salzbrunnenhaus, which was run by the Sulzbach Nature Friends and the Workers' Welfare Association for a good cause.
Salzknecht Karsten Hehn provided an insight into Sulzbach's salt history during his tours of the graduation tower. The members of the Sulzbach Artists' Interest Group added an artistic flair with their Montmartre-style booth, and thanks to the band The Infamous, the guests enjoyed excellent musical entertainment. Organizer Heike Kneller-Luck and her team were very satisfied and pleased with the many positive responses.
