On the morning of 07/14/2026, a trick theft occurred in St. Ingbert. In the Südviertel area, a man pretended to want to check the smoke detectors. After gaining access to a residential house, he engaged the resident in conversation. In an unobserved moment, he stole cash from a wallet.
The perpetrator is described as particularly tall. He wore a red craftsman's jacket.
The police point out that there are no regular fire protection inspections in single- or two-family houses that have not been privately commissioned by the owners or administrators. Smoke detectors in private apartments are also not checked by the police or fire department. Do not let anyone unauthorized into your home!
