Strong together through turbulent family times

Parent course „Strong Parents – Strong Children“ by the Psychological Counseling Center of the Saarpfalz District starts on September 16

The demands on families have drastically increased in recent years. Our world is changing rapidly, and global crises, economic uncertainties, as well as the ever-present pressure in everyday life, noticeably strain family life. Many mothers and fathers feel increasingly exhausted and face the challenge of balancing work, household, and supporting their children. Additionally, there are modern parenting questions that previous generations did not know: How do we as a family deal healthily with the ubiquitous media usage? Where do we set boundaries in the digital space while at the same time preserving a loving interaction on an equal footing?

Amidst these burdens, the renowned course „Strong Parents – Strong Children“ by the Child Protection Association offers a protective space and guidance starting September 16. The offer is deliberately aimed at mothers and fathers of children of all ages – from toddlers to teenagers. Because although the concrete everyday worries change over the years, the core questions of parenting remain the same across all developmental stages: How do we communicate without violence, how do we resolve conflicts without constant scolding, and how do we strengthen our children's self-esteem?

A central cornerstone of the course is the intensive exchange among participants. Parents today are often left on their own and experience similar worries in isolation within their own four walls. The course breaks this isolation. In joint conversations with other participants, it quickly becomes apparent that no one is alone with their concerns. This trusting exchange not only provides emotional relief but also delivers practical, real-life impulses from practice for practice. Accompanied by expert impulses from the course leadership, participants collaboratively develop ways to bring more calm, structure, and ease back into their individual family everyday lives.

District Administrator Frank John, himself a father of a daughter, is familiar through his commitment to the social structures of the district with the challenges families face today: „Managing everyday life can be quite difficult for families. Exchanging ideas with other parents and professionals and seeking solutions together provides relief and thus often benefits the entire family. This parent course offers a reliable framework for this.“

The course consists of 10 sessions and takes place every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the rooms of the Psychological Counseling Center in Homburg. Registration and further information are available at the Psychological Counseling Center of the Saarpfalz District, Tel. 06841 104-7222, E-mail:
