On 20.07.2026, around 18:15, a traffic accident occurs on the L118 at the entrance to Homburg-Jägersburg. Presumably due to inattention, the driver of a 5 Series BMW runs over a traffic island in the middle of the roadway. This results in a collision with a traffic sign as well as a tree. Both vehicle occupants sustain minor injuries as a result of the accident.

The BMW is no longer drivable and a total economic loss is incurred. The traffic sign and the tree are also damaged.

No other road users were involved in the accident.

For the purpose of accident investigation, the L118 had to be fully closed in the area of the accident site for about one hour, causing significant traffic disruptions.
