On July 17th, an attempted bicycle theft was prevented at Gustav-Regler-Platz in Saarbrücken by an attentive passerby. The perpetrator tried to break into an e-bike but was disturbed and fled. The police are asking witnesses for information, especially the intervening passerby.

On Friday, 17.07.2026, around 5:50 p.m., an attempted bicycle theft occurred at Gustav-Regler-Platz in Saarbrücken. In the process, the unknown perpetrator tried to break open the lock of an e-bike parked at Gustav-Regler-Platz.

During the act, the perpetrator was addressed by a passerby, whereupon he abandoned the attempt.

The police ask witnesses who can provide useful information about the act or the perpetrator to contact the Saarbrücken-Stadt police station. In particular, they are seeking the passerby who addressed the perpetrator and thereby prevented the further execution of the crime.
