Study trip of the Protestant Academy in Saarland to Florence, Pisa and Assisi

In the autumn of 2026, the 800th anniversary of the death of Francis of Assisi (†1226) will be commemorated. On this occasion, the Protestant Academy offers a multi-day trip to Florence, Pisa and Assisi. The trip leads to significant places of Francis of Assisi’s activity as well as into the spiritual and cultural world of medieval and early modern Italy:
Assisi: Basilica San Francesco, Basilica S. Maria degli Angeli with the Portiuncula Chapel, among others.
Florence: Synagogue with museum, Uffizi, cathedral, baptistery, dome, bell tower and Palazzo Ponte Vecchio, among others.
Pisa: Piazza dei Miracoli with Leaning Tower & cathedral and baptistery; Camposanto Monumentale, among others – subject to change
Competent tours with experts on site are complemented by theological and cultural-scientific impulses.
Travel price per person in double room: €1,590; possibly plus single room supplement €330
