On 20.07.2026, the police were informed at around 10:15 a.m. about a barn fire in the Steinbach district. Upon the arrival of the first emergency responders, heavy smoke development and flames from a building used as a storage hall were observed.
Thanks to a strong deployment of the fire department, the fire was quickly brought under control and completely extinguished, preventing the fire from spreading to an adjacent hall with hay bales. For this purpose, parts of the roof of the burning storage hall had to be opened.
According to current knowledge, tools and agricultural machinery stored inside the building were significantly damaged by the fire.
There was no danger to persons or animals at any time.
After an inspection by the THW and a structural engineer, the building was declared structurally safe.
The police investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. The estimated property damage is initially assessed to be in the low six-figure range.
