Warning Strike: Collection of the Yellow Bin in Saarbrücken Canceled
The municipal Central Communal Disposal Service (ZKE) points out that the waste management company Saarbrücken mbh (ASS), commissioned with the collection of the Yellow Bin, has been on strike since today, Friday, July 17.
Yellow Bin collection canceled due to strike
Accordingly, the Yellow Bins in no district of the city will be emptied. Users of the Yellow Bins are asked to leave the bins in place. They will presumably be emptied after the strike ends or on the next regular collection date.
Citizens whose bin is full due to a missed collection can place transparent bags next to their bin at the next regular collection. These will then be taken along.
Bulky waste collection of metal and electronic scrap also canceled
Since the collection of bulky metal scrap and electronic scrap is also carried out by ASS, this will also remain uncollected today. It will be collected as soon as possible. Other types of bulky waste will be disposed of as usual by the ZKE.
ZKE collects residual waste, organic waste, and waste paper as usual
The emptying of bins for residual waste, organic waste, and waste paper will continue regularly by the ZKE and is not affected by the strike.
ZKE recycling centers accept packaging waste free of charge
The ZKE recycling yard at Wiesenstraße 20 in Malstatt and the ZKE recycling center Am Holzbrunnen 4 in St. Johann are open. Here it is possible to deliver materials for the Yellow Bin in transparent bags as well as metal and electronic scrap in household quantities free of charge. The ZKE recycling point in Dudweiler also accepts metal and electronic scrap.
The opening hours of the ZKE facilities can be found online at
