Discovering the digital world – Smartphone and Internet for older people
Digital services can facilitate communication, everyday life, and access to health information, thus enabling more independence in daily life. To support older people in safely using digital applications, the information mobile of the "Digital Angel" project is coming to Riegelsberg, Saarbrücken, and Saarlouis.
On site, interested persons will learn how to use smartphones, tablets, and the Internet safely in everyday life. Of course, there is also the opportunity to ask individual questions, which are answered simply and understandably by the digital experts. In addition, digital applications can be tried out together, and voice assistants like Alexa can be explored.
Additionally, the network »Das Saarland lebt gesund!« (DSLG) provides information on the topic of heat protection. Visitors receive practical tips on behavior during hot days as well as informational materials to take home.
Interested persons can visit the information mobile of the "Digital Angel" free of charge on the following dates:
• Tuesday, August 4, 2026, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM: Walter-Wagner-Platz, Riegelsberg
• Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM: St. Johanner Markt, Saarbrücken
• Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 2:00 PM–4:00 PM: Französische Straße, Saarlouis
