Mayor Maurer welcomes new employee:
Joachim Barbian (58)
Reinforcement for the team of Department 3, responsible for finance and taxes, of the municipality of Quierschied: Since July 1, 2026, Joachim Barbian has been on board. The 58-year-old native of Quierschied has completed various training and further education courses in the commercial sector during his professional career. After more than 20 years at Vereinigte Volksbank, where he held leadership positions in wealth management for many years, the certified banking specialist most recently worked for three years as Head of Finance and Accounting for the Diaconal Work at the Saar. At the municipality of Quierschied, Mr. Barbian takes on the position of Deputy Head of the Treasury with a focus on the municipality's tax matters, establishment and management of fixed asset accounting, as well as debt management, credit, interest, and participation management. In addition, Mr. Barbian will assist in the preparation of the budget and financial planning, monitoring the ongoing budget execution, and preparing budget reports.
"I am very happy to be able to contribute my skills to my home municipality and look forward to the exciting task at the town hall," says Barbian. Mayor Lutz Maurer welcomes the new employee and looks forward to good and productive cooperation in the important area of municipal finances.
