100 Years Outdoor Pool St. Wendel: Anniversary Weekend with Summer Night Party, Club Life and Family Program
St. Wendel. A century of the St. Wendel outdoor pool – the district town of St. Wendel is celebrating this special anniversary together with numerous clubs and partners from July 31 to August 2 with a varied program of events for the whole family. For three days, sports, games, music, and community are the focus, making the traditional outdoor pool a meeting place for everyone.
Summer night party opens the anniversary weekend
The opening event on Friday, July 31, is the big summer night party. The outdoor pool is open until 10 p.m. that day. The program includes music, participatory activities, and as a highlight, the belly flop contest.
DJ SQ provides the perfect beats for a summery atmosphere, while refreshing drinks are served at the cocktail bar. Those who want to capture the evening can take souvenir photos in the designated photo booth between 4 PM and 10 PM.
Sports and Club Life on Saturday
On Saturday, August 1st, everything revolves around the diversity of swimming clubs in St. Wendel.
The swimming club Neda invites you to various games centered around water. At the NEDA SUP Challenge, visitors can try out the board and demonstrate their skills.
The Diving Club St. Wendel presents a demonstration dive and offers a total of three trial dives for four people each on Club Day. Due to limited capacity, the spots will be raffled. Interested persons aged 18 and over can apply by email to freibad@sankt-wendel.de by July 29 to participate in the trial diving.
The DLRG local group St. Wendel is represented with rescue demonstrations and provides insightful insights into their work. Visitors also have the opportunity to try out the club's rescue equipment.
The swimming club Heuler is hosting the Water Polo 5-Meter Throw Tournament on Club Day, held in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the outdoor swimming pool. The game is played in teams of three in the 5-meter throw mode. The entry fee is five or three euros per team. In addition to a junior category (born 2014 and younger) with material prizes, there are cash prizes for adults to be won. Furthermore, a special prize awaits for the 100th goal of the tournament. Registrations are possible in advance by email at wasserball.heuler@gmail.com and on the day of the event on site.
Family celebration rounds off anniversary weekend
On Sunday, August 2nd, the big family festival will take place from 10 am to 6 pm. With Sonni Sonnenschein and her team, the youngest guests can look forward to a varied program with treasure hunting, pirate quiz, anchor throwing, and many other activities. The offer is complemented by a bouncy castle, football darts, and various game stations. Another highlight is the magic show by Lucy Mathias at 11:30 am.
Also on Sunday, the local DLRG group St. Wendel will once again present their work and invite you to learn more about water rescue and safety at the water through numerous interactive activities.
