Exchange with the Saarland Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the future development of Ensdorf
Last week, the mayor of Ensdorf, Jörg Wilhelmy, was pleased to welcome Dr. Carsten Meier, Managing Director of the IHK Saarland and responsible for the business area of economic policy and business promotion, as an important discussion partner at the town hall. In his area of responsibility, the IHK supports, among other things, location development and business promotion as well as the economic development of municipalities and companies in Saarland.
The focus of this conversation was on the current challenges and future prospects of the municipality of Ensdorf. Together, it was discussed how the IHK Saarland can contribute its expertise to a structured and sustainable development process following the recently announced settlement intentions and constructively accompany the further development of the Ensdorf location. Particularly pleasing was Dr. Meier's positive feedback on the well-maintained and appealing appearance of our municipality.
Together with Dr. Klaus Blug, the former power plant director, a visit to the former power plant site was originally planned afterwards. However, due to the midsummer temperatures, it was decided to hold the meeting entirely in the town hall. As part of a short presentation, Mayor Jörg Wilhelmy briefly introduced the planned projects for the reuse of the power plant site in Ensdorf. They also discussed the development potentials on the Duhamel site and the opportunities arising from both areas for the business location Ensdorf. The open and constructive exchange once again highlighted the great importance the upcoming projects have for the future economic development of the municipality of Ensdorf and the entire region.
