State capital will work on St. Johanner Street at the main station from July 17
From Friday, July 17, the state capital Saarbrücken will be working on St. Johanner Straße in the area of the main train station.
The exit from the main train station in the direction of Ludwigskreisel parallel to the tunnel is affected.
As part of the repair work, the road will be milled and subsequently covered with a new layer of asphalt.
The affected section of St. Johanner Straße will be fully closed during the work. Vehicles will be directed via the opposite tram track. Pedestrians can continue to use the sidewalks. Bicycle traffic will be diverted to a shared, signposted pedestrian and bicycle path. Motorcyclists cannot access the main station during the work.
Access to the construction site is always possible for emergency and service vehicles.
Information about the construction process
To keep the restrictions for road users as minimal as possible, the construction site will be set up on Friday, July 17, after the end of the morning rush hour. Then the milling work will begin. On Saturday, July 18, the asphalt work will be carried out. On Monday morning, July 20, the marking work will take place. The repaired section of St. Johanner Street is expected to be reopened to traffic from 9 a.m.
The work costs around 20,000 euros. Due to weather conditions, it may be postponed.
