On Sunday, 09.08.2026, a guided hike on the Warndt Forest Trail will take place again.
The guided hike with Harald Schambil covers 7 to 8 km along the premium hiking trail through the forest-rich cultural landscape of the Warndt. Admire the St. Nikolaus pond, the forester's memorial, and the water buffalo in the Warndt. Hike past the idyllic quarry and enjoy the spectacular view from the Carrière Freyming-Merlebach viewing platform. Swing on the unique border swing from the German side to the French side. If you're lucky, you might encounter genuine Heidschnucken sheep and Limousin cattle.
Please wear suitable footwear (hiking shoes) and weather-appropriate clothing. After the tour, you can visit the forest garden.
Meeting point: 11:00 AM at the hunting lodge and forest garden Karlsbrunn, free of charge
(hat collection at the end for a good cause).
Duration: approx. 3 hours
