Once again, the Montessori Community School Saar has fallen victim to right-wing extremist graffiti and damage on the school grounds.
Prime Minister Anke Rehlinger visited the school today, Tuesday, July 7, to get an impression of the situation and to discuss security measures and prevention of further attacks with Deputy Principal Verena Lorig.

This makes me saddened and angry. Anyone who daubs swastikas and National Socialist symbols on a school is not only committing property damage but deliberately trying to intimidate children and teachers and threatening people because of their belief or origin. We will not tolerate this. Those who attack our democracy and spread hate must know: the rule of law does not look away. Such acts are consistently prosecuted. Our answer to hate is solidarity. And our answer to right-wing extremism is a clear stance: There is no place for misanthropy and no place for National Socialist ideology in Saarland."
“Our school stands for respect, diversity, and peaceful coexistence. The repeated attacks affect our school community, but they do not change our attitude. On the contrary: We will continue to work on exemplifying democratic values and civil courage to our students,” emphasized Deputy Principal Verena Lorig during the inspection.
Since March, the Montessori Community School Saar has already been the victim of right-wing extremist graffiti five times. Most recently, some window panes and a bus stop were also damaged.
