PM_Zonta Club Saarlouis donates 2,000 euros to the district aid fund "Citizens in Need"
Thanks to a generous donation from the Zonta Club Saarlouis, the district relief fund "Citizens in Need" was recently increased by 2,000 euros. Several board members presented the corresponding check to District Administrator Patrik Lauer at the Saarlouis District Office. For over 30 years, the relief fund "Citizens in Need" has been supporting people from the Saarlouis district who have found themselves in a temporary emergency through no fault of their own.
In the joint discussion, it was addressed how the funds are used to help people in difficult situations. According to District Administrator Patrik Lauer, the majority of those seeking help in recent times were single elderly people as well as those with mental and chronic illnesses. He thanked the members of the Zonta Club for their long-standing social commitment and counted the association among the "strong, reliable supporters."
The focus of the efforts of the Zonta Club Saarlouis is the regional support of girls and women in the district of Saarlouis. “We hope that our donation will help improve the situation for some women in the district of Saarlouis,” said Gabriele Jaeck, recently elected president of the Zonta Club Saarlouis. The financial resources were generated by the Zonta Club through various activities such as book or clothing flea markets.
Zonta International is one of the largest international networks of professional women. Worldwide, more than 26,000 women in over 60 countries are committed to improving the living conditions of women and girls.
