ZKE distributes waste disposal materials and provides information on city cleanliness
The municipal Central Communal Waste Disposal Service (ZKE) will distribute useful waste disposal materials on Saturday, July 4th, in Reichsstraße, Bahnhofstraße, at St. Johanner Markt, and in Mainzer Straße in St. Johann, and will provide information on the topic of city cleanliness.
From 2 to 7 p.m., passersby receive mini ashtrays for their pockets, trash bags for on the go, and dog waste bags from the ZKE. With flyers, the municipal utility company (ZKE) also draws attention to the fact that fines will be imposed if garbage is carelessly dropped on the ground.
The ZKE wants to draw attention to the phenomenon of "littering" with this campaign. This involves the careless disposal of small waste while passing by – for example, candy wrappers, cigarette butts, or chewing gum. The materials distributed by the ZKE help to transport waste to where it belongs: the nearest trash bin.
Background
The campaign takes place within the framework of the city cleanliness initiative "Clean is More Beautiful." To promote civic engagement for more cleanliness, the state capital launched the campaign together with citizen initiatives and the ZKE as early as 2007.
