Good day,
Attached is a press release from the city of St. Ingbert with a request for publication.
Theater Überzwerg visits the Luitpoldschule daycare center
Silence! The heads of the 15 "School Foxes" – as the preschool children of the Luitpoldschule daycare call themselves – turned expectantly towards the door. They had called out three times. First quietly, then louder, and finally unmistakably, accompanied by clapping and stamping. "Wanja, Wanja, Wanjaaa!!!" But the reading mentor, jopebe, was scared. Only when the children formed a chain with him and held his hand tightly did he dare to press down the door handle. And there, in the doorway, stood "him": Wanja! The big "saxophone whistle" in his mouth, the little hat on his head, the felt slippers on his feet … the children stood there amazed, with open mouths and shining eyes.
But back to the beginning. After attending the play "Es klopft bei Wanja in der Nacht" at the Theater Überzwerg during the winter season, a workshop followed at the "Moderne Galerie" in Saarbrücken. Here, creativity was explored using the shapes triangle, circle, square, and rectangle. Now, the team from jopebe, together with the educators Larissa and Giulia, has combined these two formats. Instead of bear, fox, and hare, the four shapes set off to visit Wanja. The children developed a travel story in which obstacles such as a swamp, a lake, a road with potholes, and a narrow gorge had to be overcome with mutual, imaginative assistance. This journey was documented in drawings on a school chalkboard using real chalk. At the end of their time in daycare, a small booklet with these drawings and accompanying texts is to be created as a keepsake.
Finally, the school foxes wanted to know what still awaited their four friends on the remaining path. So, simply ask Wanja! A very lively question-and-answer game developed. According to Wanja (played by actor Reinhold Rolser from Theater Überzwerg), the way to his house in the forest led, among other things, over a narrow footbridge across a three-meter-deep stream. Courageously, the children followed Wanja in single file until jopebe called out, "Wanja, I'm afraid." To which Wanja replied, "Then we'll just jump into the cool water. It's really very hot today." And then there was a splash and everyone was lying splashing and laughing on the floor of the dining room. So the hour with Wanja flew by.
At the farewell, Wanja could hardly escape the enthusiastic expressions of gratitude from the children. In the hallway, it echoed for a long time: "Wanja was here!!"
