Press Release No. 45/2026 dated 17.06.2026 Data Protection for Clubs and Associations Seminar for Clubs in Quierschied on September 14, 2026 Saarbrücken/Quierschied – The Vereinstour Saarland, a project of the Union Foundation, and the municipality of Quierschied invite you to a seminar on data protection in clubs with lawyer Patrick Nessler on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Q.lisse in Quierschied. Data protection plays an important role from sports clubs to large state associations. On September 14, 2026, the Vereinstour Saarland will stop at the Q.lisse in Quierschied and bring clarity to the jungle of the GDPR. In this practical seminar, participants will learn how to legally collect, store, and protect personal data in everyday club activities. This seminar is aimed at board members, data protection officers, secretaries, trainers, and committed members who want to actively engage with the handling of personal data in their club or association. It is also ideal for those who are new to office or want to be on the safe side regarding data protection in clubs. “Data protection is no longer a fringe issue but a central prerequisite for responsible club work,” emphasizes the mayor of the municipality of Quierschied, Lutz Maurer, who, together with the Vereinstour Saarland, invites you to the seminar. “With the Vereinstour Saarland, we offer our clubs important support to safely implement legal requirements and strengthen the trust of their members. Our volunteers do a great job; they deserve the best possible information and practical assistance.” Speaker Patrick Nessler is a lawyer specializing in club and association law and a long-standing speaker in the club world. With his clear, understandable style, he explains complex legal content so that it can be directly applied in everyday club activities. His focus: practical solutions, not legal jargon. The aim of the seminar is to make data protection in clubs understandable and applicable. You will learn how to lawfully process personal data and which rules apply to particularly sensitive information. Additionally, you will know how to implement rights of access and protect your club from data protection incidents – legally secure, structured, and responsibly. Prior registration is requested. Participation is free of charge. The event will take place on Monday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m., at Q.lisse, Rathausplatz 7, 66287 Quierschied.
