Apply now for the Environmental and Climate Protection Award
Until Monday, August 31, interested parties can submit their applications for this year's Environmental and Climate Protection Award of the state capital Saarbrücken.
The award honors already realized projects as well as special commitment in all areas of environmental and climate protection by the state capital. Applications can be submitted by associations, organizations, initiatives, or individuals who have implemented environmentally friendly, climate-relevant, and sustainable projects.
Interested parties can apply themselves or submit nominations for committed individuals or groups. A prerequisite for applications is that the submitted projects have been implemented within the past two years.
Applications from many subject areas possible
Projects from a wide range of environmental and climate protection areas can be submitted. These include, among others, measures for habitat preservation and management, the conservation of ecologically valuable landscapes, or the protection of endangered animal and plant species. Events for climate and environmental education, sustainable and climate-friendly mobility concepts, measures to adapt to the consequences of climate change, as well as projects focused on climate-friendly nutrition and sustainable purchasing are also welcome.
A total of 10,000 euros in prize money is available. The winning project will be awarded 2,000 euros. The evaluation of the submitted projects is carried out by a jury made up of members of the Environmental Committee of the state capital Saarbrücken.
The Environmental and Climate Protection Award is being presented for the fifth time this year.
