Yesterday, Tuesday (30.06.2026), a suspected homicide occurred in the Lockweiler district of Wadern. According to reports, a 41-year-old man is urgently suspected of having killed his mother in their shared residence. The man was provisionally arrested.
Around 6:30 a.m., the 41-year-old called the police emergency number and stated that he had killed his mother. On site, the situation appeared to be as reported to the officers involved. The man was taken into custody without resistance. It was too late to help his 63-year-old mother.
For investigative tactical reasons, the police cannot provide any further information at this time. The ongoing investigations - especially regarding the sequence of events and the motives behind the act - are still continuing. The individual provisionally detained will be presented to an investigative judge during the course of the day.
