From July 6 to 17, 2026, an international youth camp will take place in the municipality of Schiffweiler. Young people from Spain, Turkey, Italy, the Czech Republic, France, and Poland will work together with young people from the Neunkirchen district to further develop the Striet nature trail and add new barrier-free experience stations.

Meeting point: Near the model airfield Schiffweiler
As part of the youth camp, among other things, the existing barefoot station will be expanded, a wheelchair-accessible circular path will be created, as well as a touch and feel box with local natural materials, an accessible sound station, and other interactive experience offerings. The aim of the project is to further enhance the nature adventure trail and make the idea of inclusion tangible for all visitors.
The International Youth Camp is jointly organized and supported by the Neunkirchen district through the Youth Office, the municipality of Schiffweiler with the Cultural Office as well as the Children and Youth Office, and the IBG International Encounter in Community Services e. V.
At the opening, you will have the opportunity to get to know the newly created stations and to engage in conversation with the participating young people, the organizers, and the project leaders.
