29.06.2026 City of Völklingen – Press Release No. 111/2026 Tourist Information Völklingen presented at new location – Open House on June 24, 2026 The Tourist Information of the City of Völklingen has had a new location at Rathausstraße 4 since May 1, 2026. With an open house, the facility officially introduced itself to citizens and guests of the city. With drinks, pretzel bread, and a honey tasting from the regional provider “Saarbiene,” visitors took the opportunity to get to know the new premises and engage in conversation with the Tourist Information team. Mayor Stephan Tautz also visited the Tourist Information and, together with employees of the city administration, got an impression of the new rooms. With the move, the Tourist Information is now even more centrally located in the city center. It serves as a contact point for guests as well as for citizens. In addition to information on sights, leisure and cultural offerings, and excursion tips, it also offers event tickets via Ticket Regional as well as select regional products, including honey from local production and other Völklingen-related souvenirs. Thus, the Tourist Information is increasingly developing into a place where information, service, and city identity come together – right in the heart of the city.
