On the morning of June 27, 2026, the police of Saarland were informed by a witness that a construction crane had toppled over in the Saarbrücken district of Güdingen. At that time, no further information, especially regarding possible injuries, was available.
Upon arrival, the officers from the Saarbrücken City Police Department confirmed that the crane, located on a private property on Bergstraße, had collapsed, destroying the canopy of the single-family house belonging to the property.
The affected building is currently unoccupied. No personal injuries occurred. The extent of the property damage cannot yet be quantified.
The responsible crane rental company from the Neunkirchen district was notified to recover the crane.
Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
