Dialogue event for a sustainable financial architecture of child and youth welfare
On Thursday, July 2, 2026, a political-scientific dialogue format on the future of child and youth welfare in Germany will take place from 10:30 AM to 3 PM at the Saarland State Representation in Berlin. The focus of the event is the question of how child and youth welfare in Germany can be designed to be financially sustainable, legally secure, and future-oriented in the long term.
In addition to Minister of Social Affairs Magnus Jung, among others, Dr. Bettina Bahr, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health, Verena Bentele, President of the Social Association VdK, Markus Schön, City Director of Krefeld, Tilman Fuchs, Mayor of the City of Münster, and Pippa Kolmer from Fiscal Future, as well as municipalities, welfare associations, professional practice, and science, discuss the central structural issues of child and youth welfare and possible solutions.
The event is being conducted in cooperation with the Institute for Social Pedagogical Research Mainz (ism Mainz) and the MASFG.
