The renowned St. Ingbert Cabaret Festival presented itself in mid-June to an enthusiastic audience at the Saarland Representation to the Federal Government in Berlin. Mayor Nadine Backes welcomed numerous guests in the capital and took the opportunity to promote the city of St. Ingbert, its diverse cultural landscape, and the long-established festival.
In her welcome address, Backes emphasized the importance of culture as a unifying element and an important location factor. The cabaret festival "Die Pfanne" has stood for the highest artistic quality for decades and has made a name for itself far beyond the borders of Saarland. At the same time, the festival is a flagship for St. Ingbert and showcases the cultural diversity that the medium-sized town has to offer.
PIERO provided the artistic highlight of the evening with his program "Shut up, Rapunzel!". The multiple award-winning cartoonist is one of the most prominent artists in his field and won both the St. Ingberter Pan and the German Cartoon Award in 2025. Already in 2023, he had attracted great attention with his animated social media series Just a Thought.
With his current stage program, PIERO presented an unusual and innovative mix of cartoon art, animation, and stand-up comedy. In a fast-paced and pointed exchange with his own animated fairy tale characters, a show full of wordplay, surprising twists, and quirky ideas developed. The audience was enthusiastic.
The evening at the state representation impressively demonstrated why the St. Ingbert cabaret festival "Die Pfanne" has been one of the most significant events of its kind for many years. At the same time, the event provided an excellent opportunity to present St. Ingbert as a vibrant cultural city to a nationwide audience.
