The German Brewer's Association awarded Rainer the honor during its traditional industry meeting, which brought together numerous guests from business, science, associations, and politics.
Minister President Anke Rehlinger handed over her office as "Ambassador of Beer" to the new incumbent, Federal Minister for Agriculture, Food and Homeland, Alois Rainer, at yesterday's German Brewers' Day in Berlin.
“The office of the Beer Ambassador has brought me great joy,” said Rehlinger at the handover ceremony. “It stands for the appreciation of an industry that combines tradition, craftsmanship, and economic strength. Our breweries make an important contribution to jobs, culture, and social life, and create regional identity. I thank the German Brewers Association for this special honor and wish my successor Alois Rainer much success, a steady hand, and always good conversations with the people who shape this traditional industry during his term as Beer Ambassador.”
The German Brewers' Day is considered the largest industry meeting of the German brewing sector. The award "Ambassador of Beer" has been presented at this event for many years to individuals who have made a special commitment to craftsmanship, small and medium-sized enterprises, and regional value creation. Anke Rehlinger received the award last year and now delivered the laudation for her successor.
