Press release St. Wendel, 25.06.2026
St. Wendel Lifestyle – Art, Craft, and Inspiration
in the old town
On August 29th and 30th, the town center of St. Wendel will turn into a large and vibrant open-air gallery. Around 90 renowned artists from Germany and abroad will showcase their exclusive works at the "St. Wendel LebensArt – Market for Art & Craft." The art and craft market invites visitors to marvel and discover from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.
Art with heart and hand
With great passion, creativity, and craftsmanship, the numerous exhibitors showcase what can be created from a wide variety of materials: sculptures made of stone, wood, bronze, and steel, imaginative objet d'art, unique jewelry pieces, paintings, elegant textile design, as well as exquisite porcelain and high-quality ceramics. The personal signature makes each work a special one-of-a-kind piece.
"St. Wendeler LebensArt stands for the highest artisanal quality, extraordinary design ideas, and an impressive variety. It attracts people from the entire region and beyond who are looking for something special and find it here," explains Mayor Peter Klär.
The historic old town with its squares, alleys, cafés, restaurants, owner-operated specialty shops, and boutiques provides the perfect setting for an enjoyable weekend centered around art and craftsmanship.
Personal encounters with the creatives
The contact with the artists on site makes the market special. Visitors can not only view and purchase the exhibited works, but also engage in conversation with the people who designed and created them.
Visitors are welcome to ask questions, admire, and try out. Many artists also accept individual requests and create personal unique pieces or custom-made works – ranging from fashion and jewelry to furniture and special art and design objects.
Mobile live music in the streets
Musical accompaniment this year is provided by the acoustic ensemble "Ampless." As a mobile band, the trio moves through the St. Wendel pedestrian zone, creating a lively atmosphere with guitar, saxophone, double bass, and vocals.
A market full of new discoveries
When selecting the exhibitors, the organizers of the district town of St. Wendel place special emphasis on quality as well as originality and diversity. Each year, the most convincing artists and artisans are chosen from numerous applications. This ensures that the audience can continuously discover new works, design ideas, and creative signatures.
“With our concept ‘Art in the City,’ we have created a cultural attraction that excites both artists and visitors alike. LebensArt enhances the regional recognition of St. Wendel and uniquely connects art and culture with commerce, gastronomy, and the vibrant atmosphere of our city center,” emphasizes Klär.
Sunday shopping and relaxed shopping experience
Another highlight of the event weekend is the open-for-business Sunday on August 30th. From 1 to 6 pm, the stores in the city center invite you to a relaxed shopping stroll. This way, the tour of the arts and crafts market can be combined with a visit to the owner-operated specialty shops and boutiques in the pedestrian zone. The local gastronomy also offers numerous opportunities for an enjoyable break.
Convenient arrival and good parking facilities
During the stay, the city underground car park – on Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. – as well as numerous free parking spaces on the fairground in Missionshausstraße are available.
It is also possible to travel by bus and train. This makes visiting the St. Wendeler LebensArt comfortable and relaxing.
