In the early morning hours of today (25.06.2026), unknown individuals attempted to blow up an ATM in the Losheim district of Wahlen. According to current information, the perpetrators then left the scene in a dark vehicle heading in an unknown direction. The police are asking the public for assistance.
At around 6:00 a.m., a witness reported an open flap on an ATM at a bank branch in Losheim-Wahlen. In addition to the open flap, police officers at the scene also found a forcibly opened access door to the bank's cash room. According to the current state of investigations, the police assume that an attempted ATM explosion took place between 2:50 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. The ATM was not detonated. There was no danger to the public. For unknown reasons, the perpetrators refrained from committing another act and left the scene.
In this context, a dark vehicle could be connected to the crime. The investigations are still ongoing.
