Minister Berg on summer tour at Rettel’s Partyservice – Preparing a delicious, sustainable breakfast under professional guidance
Eating is not just about nourishment. Our food choices affect our well-being, our sense of community, social justice, our environment, and our climate. Ideally, a regional, seasonal, and health-promoting diet that also brings joy and pleasure is best. Especially breakfast determines how energized we get through the school and workday.
Together with chefs Léa Linster and Yvonne Fries as well as selected volunteers from the food banks, Minister Petra Berg discusses how this can be made possible especially for Saarlanders with limited financial means. Rettel’s Catering is responsible for the organization and provides its production facility, allowing all participants to prepare a full breakfast themselves.
With this event as part of her summer tour, Berg simultaneously honors the great voluntary commitment in the eleven Saarland food banks and 13 distribution points. These make a significant contribution to the provision of aid to people affected by poverty as well as in the area of food rescue in Saarland.
