Press information from the district town of Homburg Summer holidays at the Roman Museum: Experience crafts, discover treasures, and spend time together During the summer holidays, the Roman Museum in Schwarzenacker invites families to a varied holiday program. Every Tuesday in the coming weeks, children can learn about traditional crafts in the children's workshop and try them out themselves. Each event day has a different theme and offers the opportunity to be creative and discover techniques playfully. In addition, the children's excavation invites participants to uncover hidden treasures and gain fascinating insights into the work of archaeologists. The museum also offers an opportunity to relax for accompanying adults. While the children go on discovery tours or try their hand at crafts, parents, grandparents, and other relatives can enjoy the time on the museum's picnic lawn. Visitors are warmly invited to bring blankets and refreshments and spend their museum visit in a relaxed atmosphere. The holiday program takes place for the first time on June 30th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overview of the holidays: 30.06.2026 & 21.07.2026: Pottery and excavation 07.07.2026 & 04.08.2026: Felting and excavation 14.07.2026 & 28.07.2026: Mosaic and excavation Registration is not required.
