Nature conservation and volunteering on site – Minister Petra Berg on summer tour at the Bliesransbach angling club
As part of her summer tour, Minister Berg visits the Bliesransbach angling club and acknowledges the great voluntary commitment of its members. They play a valuable role both in landscape and nature conservation, as well as in fostering social and cultural cohesion in their community.
The renovation of the previously collapse-prone pedestrian bridge, which enables hikes through the wet meadow areas at the Ransbach estuary into the Blies, is also carried out voluntarily in-house by the fishing club. The hiking route is culturally and historically interesting in terms of Saarland-French history, as well as for conveying ecological knowledge related to natural water bodies. It is therefore particularly suitable as a nature classroom for kindergarten and school children. To finance this, Berg hands over a check from the "Agency for Rural Areas," which also includes the replanting of resilient tree species in the softwood floodplain. This measure serves especially for flood protection.
You are cordially invited to attend the event and report on it.
