On June 22, 2026, at around 12:00 PM, a hit-and-run traffic accident occurred near Marienstraße 10.
A black Toyota with Euskirchen district license plates was driving on Marienstraße coming from the marketplace towards Invalidenstraße. A black BMW with Völklingen district license plates was coming towards the Toyota, almost entirely on the left lane. The black Toyota had to swerve to the right to avoid a collision and sustained property damage to the front right tire, rendering it no longer drivable. There was no contact between the BMW and the Toyota due to the evasive maneuver.
