Whether on the way to work, shopping, or at home – reliable mobile network coverage is important to many people in everyday life.
From June 24th to July 1st, the second nationwide mobile network measurement week is taking place to provide an even more accurate picture of the actual network coverage. Volunteers can use an app to record the service quality of their mobile provider and submit the data to the Federal Network Agency.
Digital Minister Jürgen Barke calls on the people of Saarland to participate in the campaign.
The mobile network coverage in Saarland is above the national average. Nevertheless, in practice, there may be deviations in coverage values, as these are based, among other things, solely on calculations by network operators. The mobile network measurement week creates transparency at this point. The more people from Saarland participate in data collection, the better the coverage picture becomes. Network operators can use this data to specifically improve coverage.
Under the motto "Check Your Network," citizens can record network availability using the "Broadband Measurement" app from the Federal Network Agency. The app is available for free and ad-free download in all app stores. The results are transmitted anonymously to the Federal Network Agency and are included in the "Network Check Map" of the Gigabit Registry.
