On Friday, June 19, 2026, at around 7:10 p.m., a hit-and-run traffic accident occurred on Klosterstraße in Schmelz, to the detriment of a local resident.
According to current knowledge, the previously unknown traffic accident perpetrator was driving his blue moped on Klosterstraße towards Römerstraße. For reasons unknown so far, he left the roadway on the left and collided with the property fence of a resident. Afterwards, the perpetrator fled the scene without being identified. The fence was considerably damaged by the collision.
